Projects

We have established three churches 'Word Christian Centres' based in Kayieye, Nyapiedho and Komouk in Siaya DIstrict.  

Our churches are aimed at equipping the saints for the work of hte ministry in order to make a difference in the community.

Outreaches, home crusades, annual conference and prayer rallies are organised with the aim of reaching the lost for Jesus.

Each church has a vibrant Children's Ministry. Our goal is to lead children to Christ, so that they can go out and influence their world and lead others to Christ making a difference in their community and world.

Youth - our vision is to help the youth and children reach their full potential through income generating projects. Our youth are actively involved in outreaches and on a weekly basis go into the community to help the widows and elderly.  Annual youth camps are  held in December to help equip youth spiritually, emotionally and physically.

Women in the area are often suppressed and suffer from low self-esteem. Cultural practices make it especially difficult for widows left with children to raise. AWM has a vision to help these women reach their potential and become self-sufficient.  Various projects have been implemented one of which is "Women of Valour Catering Group".

Based on cooking knowledge and skills with some entrepreneurial support, the program enables the women to either offer their services as caterers or supports them to hire out equipment purchased to support the enterprise.

This brings in money which is shared against them. The women have responded positively to the challenge of this work.

Our men's ministry which was started in 2016 has developed into a powerful ministry.  Men meet on a weekly basis and discuss issues they are facing, voicing their frustrations and learning to pray for one another. The men have seen a big growth in their spiritual lives and in their families.  

The area the Mission is based has a very high HIV rate. As many who are infected do not seek medical assistance due to the stigma and shame, AWM has established support groups where people meet and receive counsel and taken to hospital to receive appropriate medication.  We started with one group and we now have many.  This is a very necessary and important ministry.
